It’s possible you can learn quite a bit on your own with free materials and videos available online, at some point if you want to get serious about your playing you should spend the money and invest in a quality guitar instruction product.
I’ve used a lot of different dvd guitar lessons and online guitar lessons. This section of the site is dedicated to providing you indepth reviews of these courses and programs.
You hear me talk a lot about JamPlay here at LearningGuitarToday.com. It’s currently my favorite online guitar lessons site and that’s why. I’ve gone through both their Phase 1 (beginner series) of acoustic lessons and am now using some of the Phase 2 Genre specific lessons.
I like the teachers, I love the video quality and the bonus features. I’ve written a full Jamplay review and also done a video walking you through the members area so you can see exactly what you get.
As the oldest online guitar lessons service on the Internet they know a thing or two about teaching you how to play guitar at home. In fact they’ve successfully done it with over 50,000 students around the globe. Find out what I think of their video lessons, instructors, teaching styles and more. in my full Guitar Tricks review.
In comparison to JamPlay I feel GuitarTricks offers as good a service in terms of lesson content and instruction but it’s a little more stripped down. That is to say Guitar Tricks doesn’t have all the same bells and whistles as JamPlay (i.e. live webcam lessons each day).
